The following is a "life" post and has nothing to do with beauty, but it's something so magical I have to share with all of you!
We have a 10 ft. beautiful rug that sits right below our Cal-King Purple Mattress. It was the biggest single purchase we bought as a married couple- 2 freakin' bills for a rug from Home Depot. 2 BILLS! For. A. RUG. Right? Was I crazy?! I probably was. Jimmy was probably thinking the same thing. Mind you, it said it was "stain-resistant" and for an ivory rug, I told myself "it must be worth it"!
Well, over the past 6 months, the edging around our bed has gotten a bit worn and dirty. I'm super sensitive to dust and dander, and I noticed I couldn't sit on the rug without itching. It gave me an excuse to try out this little thing I've been eyeing: Bissell's Little Green Carpet Cleaner!
It's pretty self-explanatory: warm water shoots out of the spray nozzle, scrub the area a bit to loosen dirt and grime, then push the nozzle into the carpet, and pull back to suck all the yucky stuff out.
- Assemble the machine and plug it in
- Remove the "Fill Tank"
- Add in the Bissell Carpet Cleaning Solution to the line and fill the rest with super hot tap water (be sure to only use Bissell Branded Solution for your machine)
- Attach the tank back onto the machine
- Turn it on (it sounds like a vacuum)
- Spray the area. (it should be damp but not soaking)
- Scrub as your spray.
- Push nozzle down and pull back to suck everything up!
- Empty dirty water tank when max line is reached
- Refill clean solution/water side as many times as you want to clean
I would recommend working in areas of about 3 ft by 3ft. I ended up pulling the nozzle back in two different directions to get most of the water out, so my carpet would dry quicker.
Remember that whatever you clean will be slightly damp, so give it some time to dry. I didn't purchase the Little Green with the Pro-Heat built in so using steamy-hot water (not boiling) works enough for me.
OMG THIS MACHINE- PURE MAGIC!! My carpet was sooooo clean! You could see a slight color difference from the area under the bed (where nobody walks) to the outskirts of the rug.
I was on a high to clean, so I scrubbed all the seats and floor mats of my car (and my sofa!) EWWWW I could not believe how dirty everything was. The tank was black. But MAN! My seats looked brand new. My car took about 2 rounds of clean water solution (back seat, front seats and floor mats 2x). I cleaned my mats until the solution was on the lighter gray side (I don't think it would have ever been completely cleaned). I would recommend leaving your floor mats in the sun to dry completely so there isn't a "wet" smell to them when you put them back in your car.
Verdict: It takes longer to clean an entire carpeted room just because the nozzle isn't very wide. But the results are fantastic!! It makes a huge difference. My carpets feel so clean! Plus, the machine isn't too clunky at all- it's a perfect size!
I bought the "2x deep clean + protect" solution. It has about 24 rounds in one bottle. I think I used about 5 rounds- not bad for everything I cleaned.
Would totally recommend this to anyone that has multi rugs/carpets or even pets!
